A Level Results 2019

Celebration is in the air again for Eckington School students as they celebrate their recent A level / Level 3 qualifications which show further improvement compared to last year’s results, representing a third consecutive year of increases in grades. We are very pleased with our students’ achievements and have been impressed with the diligence and approach to learning that they have displayed to earn their excellent outcomes.

Alison Burgess, Principal stated ‘I am so proud of all our students, they are a credit to the school and their families. It has been so pleasing to see our students achieve their best and move on to the next stage of their lives. We wish all our learners every success in the future.’

Sixth form numbers continue to increase at Eckington School and we are extremely proud of the vibrant community we are becoming. We would like to congratulate every single individual for their personal success, whilst mentioning the following students in particular who joined us on results morning to celebrate their A grades or equivalent: Sophie Clarkson, Adam Gough, Amelia Kramer, Olga Lycett, Emily Nicholson, Charlotte Nowell, Luke Plumb, Tilly Simpson, Jodie Smith and Sarah Young.

In terms of destinations, courses chosen range from zoology, film and media production, nursing and radiotherapy to astrophysics, criminology and psychology, once again demonstrating the diverse and ambitious range of choices that studying at Eckington School Sixth Form enables students to make. For our students who have, at this point, chosen not to attend university some have taken up apprenticeships, others have gone into employment or are taking an opportunity for a gap year.

Year on year we strive to develop and further improve so that our students can flourish and move on happily to the next stage of their lives. I hope students and their families celebrate these results and continue to demonstrate our LEAP Academy ethos of  ‘Achieving Excellence’ as they take their exciting new steps.

The rigours of A Level / Level 3 courses can mean a small number of students do not achieve as well as they might have hoped. We are very keen to support any student who needs help and they must not hesitate to get in touch with the school over the coming days and weeks if they need to.

Well done to all our students – a pleasing year and one for us to further build on!!
