The Social Sciences are a set of engaging and contemporary subjects that help to explain the world in which you live and the individuals who inhabit it.

Within psychology you will learn about the science of the human mind and behaviour. You will do this by studying the many different approaches and applications within the subject to gain a well-rounded understanding of human behaviour.  For example can phobias be learned? Why do we forget things? Are criminals born or made?

Studying sociology on the-other-hand will inform you about the many factors which influence your socialisation, culture and identity within the society they live in. For example how do you learn how to behave? Why are women more likely to be victims of crime? Why do you go to school?.

Finally health and social care gives you the chance to learn a vocational subject. This means that everything you learn will be applicable to a health and social care setting This helps to prepare you for a working life in one of the many areas that make up the health and social care. For example working with people with dementia.

We believe passionately as a team that these subjects are interesting, exciting and relevant for you and will aid in your development of a well-rounded education.
